Alley Studio 1 by Frangki

I hardly ever leave reviews, but this was the worst studio or apartment rental we've experienced. Please don't let the pictures fool you. We arrived to find nobody there, got no check-in instructions, and couldn't get anyone to answer our calls or messages. We were put in a different studio than the one we'd rented from the pictures, and were told the advertised one wasn't ready. It was a run-down, stuffy cellar-like place with worn furniture and appliances, and almost everything seemed broken. The thin, small mattress on the old metal spring bed made it impossible to sleep, even for one person. You could feel the springs pressing into your spine. The bathroom handle fell off, several ceiling lights were missing or didn't work, and ventilation was nonexistent apart from an old, worn-out air conditioner. There were dead cockroaches under the pillows when we turned them over, and we took pictures. The bathroom electrical connections were exposed and uninsulated, also photographed. The shower wouldn't drain properly, and after waiting ten minutes the small boiler still hadn't heated the water, so it was lukewarm at best. After we complained, the owner or manager didn't answer our messages or offer a refund. Thanks for reading, and safe travels.

My boyfriend and I had paid €160 for two nights, but we stayed in the room for only about 30 minutes before spotting a live bed bug on the net above the bed. We killed it and called the owner to let him know. At first he said he didn't know what bed bugs were. We showed him, and at one point he threw it on the floor to get rid of the evidence. After that, he suggested it might have come from an old, unwashed blanket in the closet. It was late, he had no other rooms, and we had to find somewhere else at 11:30 p.m. The next day he refunded only €80 of the €160, even though the apartment had bed bugs. I wanted to file a police report against him.

Bedbugs... The guy seemed really dishonest, and the place wasn't worth it at all. I couldn't even last a couple of hours. If you had nowhere else to sleep, it might be a last resort after prison.
