Lalibay Resort & Spa

The staff were a real highlight at Lalibay. The front desk team sorted out taxis, dinner reservations, the boat trip with Niko, and even a late night sheet change after a spill, always with a smile. Their advice also led us to a lovely, authentic evening in Perdika. We came to Aegina for our 10th anniversary in October, and it was the best trip we've ever had. The island is gorgeous and just an hour by boat from Athens. A short taxi ride took us to Lalibay. We arrived jet lagged a couple of hours before check in, but they got us into a room and brought wine and fruit as an anniversary present. The room was clean and comfortable, with incredible views. We loved time by the ocean and meals at the beachside restaurant. The food was great, especially breakfast. I couldn't get enough of the eggs, while my wife loved the yogurt, mushrooms and pastries. There are several good coffees to try, and dinner had plenty of tasty dishes too. The pizza was surprisingly better than pizza back home in America. They bring little bowls of chips with drinks, which is a nice salty snack, and will bring blankets if the sea breeze gets chilly during dinner. The hotel arranged a private boat trip, and Niko picked us up right by the resort shore. While we waited, a huge sea turtle swam past. We explored sea caves, snorkeled at a sunken ship and visited several islands. There were no sharks or jellyfish, which suited this wimp just fine. Agistri was lovely, and Moni had deer and peacocks everywhere. Both islands were beautiful. We were there a few weeks after peak season, so there were only a few boats around. We heard that at peak season thousands of boats can make swimming impossible. The quieter timing felt more private and enjoyable. Niko was great, and I highly recommend the trip. The pool, beds, cleanliness, views, staff and food were all A+. We didn't have a single bad experience and will definitely be back. Thanks, Lalibay!
