The location on the main road meant traffic noise kept going through the night. The pool area looked neglected, and the rooms were very dark. Nothing we raised was followed up, and nobody seemed to care. The beds were uncomfortable, the bathrooms especially were filthy and dingy, and things throughout the hotel were broken. The breakfast buffet wasn't appetising, and the coffee was disgusting. It may have been a four-star hotel 30 years ago, but it seems nothing has been done since. Such a pity. Go somewhere else, where you'll get much better value for less money.

We had a lovely week at Petrino Suites Hotel with our 2-year-old daughter, staying in a Superior Maisonette. The quiet grounds, private garden and patio, and homely feel made it easy to relax. We also booked a massage and facial there, both of which were fantastic with birdsong in the background. The staff were warm and helpful, and daily housekeeping was fine, though it was more of a tidy than a deep clean. Our daughter had plenty to enjoy, especially the playground, treehouse, and well-kept grounds. The kids’ pool was a good size, shallow throughout, and felt safe, though the pebble floor can be sharp on your feet. The main pool didn't feel busy even when all the loungers were occupied, and the poolside restaurant's food and drinks were consistently tasty. Afytos is about a 15-minute walk away, with lots of restaurants, many overlooking the sea, and everything else we needed. Having a car helped us reach nearby beaches, towns, and larger supermarkets in about 10 minutes. Parking at the hotel was never a problem. We occasionally heard other guests playing music in their gardens, but it never went on late or disturbed us. We felt the price was fair for the stay. There were a few room issues: the mattress was so hard that I slept on the sofa most nights, a shower was partly broken, door handles were a little rough, and the fridge was small and not very cold. Wi-Fi in the room was weak and dropped out often. Breakfast was tasty but repetitive, with limited hot food, mainly eggs. There was usually only one high chair, which really isn't enough for families. We'd happily return and recommend it to other families. With softer beds, stronger Wi-Fi, and some room updates, it could be close to perfect.

We'd spent a full day climbing the mountain and paid for a hotel expecting somewhere comfortable to rest and take a warm shower. Instead, the room felt old and neglected, right down to the yellowed light switches, and the bed felt damp and unpleasant. The fridge smelled strongly of rotten food left by previous guests. I lost my appetite and couldn't even try breakfast. We let the water run for at least 7 minutes, but there was no warm water, either that evening or the next morning. They said they'd check, but it still wasn't warm. For what we paid, the stay fell far below expectations.

The staff were very kind and helpful, especially the short-haired lady who was always smiling and welcoming. When my husband told reception about the unusable folding bed and the air conditioning that wasn't working properly, both problems were fixed right away the next day. The property is large, nicely decorated, and has potential. We stayed as a family of two adults and two children, ages 2 and 7, in a Superior Maisonette. The room wasn't very clean: there were cobwebs under the stairs and by the fireplace, and the bathroom smelled unpleasant, possibly because of the toilet brush. I cleaned the floor and sanitized the toilet myself each day. On our first night, the folding bed was impossible to sleep on. The room had no soundproofing. It faced the main street, with frequent traffic at night and, once, very noisy motorbikes right outside the hotel. The noise came through even with the shutters and windows closed. The door had no inside lock or latch, which made us feel unsafe, and it had to be slammed shut, so anyone coming in later could wake the others. Some of our pool inflatables and mattresses also went missing during our stay. The restaurant timing was difficult with so many small children in our group. The kitchen didn't open until 1 PM, and dishes took a very long time because there weren't enough kitchen staff. Although it closed at 9 PM, by around 8:15-8:30 PM nobody was taking new orders. One evening we had no dinner, and someone in our group had to drive to the nearby village for takeaway. There weren't enough sunbeds for the number of rooms. The pool was a major downside too: its stone bottom left all of us, children and adults, with cuts on our feet when we stood on it. This isn't a 4-star hotel yet, and there's still a lot of work to do on the issues above, even though the property has potential.

The cleaner was very nice, and the staff were good too. But after being told we could check in early, we arrived and had to wait in the sun for hours before we were allowed into our room. The room itself was nice, though the bathroom tap leaked onto the floor and the bath had black mold. We never used the pool. Throughout all its opening hours, every day, there was constant shouting and splashing from children, which made it unpleasant. This definitely isn't a place to relax by the pool unless that noise is calming for you. I'd skip breakfast: it wasn't authentic Greek food, more like a vegetarian breakfast with sliced deli meats, which weren't nice. We wouldn't visit again, and this is DEFINITELY not 4 stars.
