Iria Beach art hotel

We spent four peaceful days here and felt like we were staying in our own summer house. The clean, relaxing beach and lovely sea were just a few steps away. Breakfast had lots of options, and we enjoyed several dinners at the restaurant, where the food and room service were very good. Michael gave me a professional aroma therapy massage that helped me relax deeply. Laundry and car rental were available too, which made things easier. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year.

Iria is right on the beach, with plenty of beach chairs and restaurants nearby. The staff are kind and helpful, and the hotel is clean with a good size for the price. The bus ride to Naxos’ largest town is 10 minutes, and the station is an easy three minute walk. What a fabulous place.

Our room was roomy and clean, though it had very few amenities. The main problem was the tavern beside it: a window between our balcony and the stairs let kitchen smells and staff shouting into the room, and the cleaning staff were noisy every morning. The room only seemed soundproof if we kept the air conditioning running all day. Breakfast was decent in quality but there wasn't enough of it. Unless you got there early, items were gone and the response was, “They’re finished.” When we asked why they couldn't bring more, we were told, “We’re not a bakery!!!!” One morning I found a hair in my omelette and got only an apology. None of the kitchen staff wore a cap. We raised all this from the first day. A very polite woman at the desk offered to move us, but there was no room available until the third day of our five-day stay, so we politely declined to avoid the hassle of moving. The “paradise” promised on the hotel's site was far from what we found. Though it claims to be on the beach, it has no loungers or umbrellas of its own out front. They give you “free” towels and point you to nearby beach bars, where it costs 50€! I'm sure you can find a better deal somewhere else.

We loved being able to step from the hotel straight onto the beach, where sun beds were available to buy for a relaxing day. The location was perfect, and our honeymoon suite was comfortable with a lovely sea view. Breakfast was fantastic every morning, and the staff were so friendly and helpful, including when they arranged a rental car for us. We were in Naxos for part of our honeymoon and would happily stay here again if we return.
