Epavlis Beach Resort

We had a miserable night in a stuffy, grubby room with no mosquito screen, then left the next day. There was no taverna open, and nobody around to speak to. The listing had promised reception too, but there definitely wasn't one. Since we don't drive and there were no local grocery stores, we'd chosen this place specifically because it advertised an onsite taverna. We knew there wasn't much else nearby, so that mattered a lot to us. We complained after leaving. We'd paid for two nights, and the hotel said it would refund one because the facilities weren't available. Then they went back on that promise and refused to pay us back. I've been coming to Greece for decades, and this was the worst hotel experience I've had. The lack of basic care and hospitality left a really bad taste. I rarely write negative reviews, but this place is an exception. Don't go.

The sea is right in front, in an excellent spot, and it was very calm with perfect conditions. Service was really helpful, but the room felt like an old one from the 90s. The double bed was too small, and the bathroom furniture needs replacing.

Everything was great, from the hospitality and friendly staff to the delicious food. The zucchini, zaziki and fish were especially good. Lovely for lunch or dinner, we'll come again.

We only went for dinner, so can't comment on the rooms. We're staying at Hapimag, close to Epavlis. The food and the people were lovely, and the seaside setting is beautiful.
