Golden Silence

The name says it: Golden Silence. It's simply lovely, with clean rooms, easy access, and parking. The family owners are exceptionally friendly, all for a very affordable price.

The owner was nowhere to be seen. I didn't see her once during my six nights there. The rooms weren't clean, and the sheets weren't changed until the fourth day, after I called because there was no toilet paper. When I got back, there was a roll, but it was filthy. It had fallen into dirty water, and they left it for me. I ended up buying toilet paper myself. The mattresses had holes, and we couldn't sleep. We paid 93 euros a night, and it wasn't worth even 30. And to top it off, we brought home a bedbug as a souvenir. Such a shame, because the location is the best part of Naxos, and with a little money this place could be a palace.

A lovely spot, only a few minutes from the sea. The rooms were clean, the staff were good, and it was completely quiet, just like the accommodation's name says.

The water heater broke, the air conditioner didn't work at all at first, the taps ran on their own in the evening, and the lights kept flickering. One day there wasn't any hot water when we went to bathe. I called the owner countless times to get help, but she only called the next day and asked what I could do. They'd also told us on the phone that the mattresses and beds were new, but we were sleeping on springs. The owner eventually fixed the air conditioner and said she would bring a fan and do some printing for us. The discount was 12€, supposedly for an extra charge hotels take, which she said was good. The worst experience of my life away from home.
