Akatos Hotel

The breakfast was varied and filling, and everything was clean. Staff gave us great service, too. It was our first trip to Crete and we may have found our favorite hotel already. The beach is nearby, and the hotel is right in town. I really recommend staying here.

When my husband needed to go to the hospital early one morning, the owner called a taxi right away and checked on us with concern all day. Thankfully everything was fine after a couple of hours, and I really appreciated how caring the owners and staff were. They're all kind and hardworking. We spent 10 nights at Akatos this July, and for a 2-star hotel it was amazing. Our room was large and clean, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, a little soft, which suited me, and they cleaned the room and changed the towels daily. The kitchen had what we needed to make lunch, and though the shower was small, it worked perfectly. Breakfast was tasty and generous, the same each day, which was fine by me. We also enjoyed lunch at the restaurant. A great sandy beach is a few minutes away on foot, with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets close by. We'd stay here again if we return to Agia Marina, and I highly recommend it.

We were really happy with our stay. The staff were welcoming and very friendly, breakfast was excellent, and the hotel is almost right on the beach.

We booked again after visiting in May, and came back in September. The owners and staff were pleasant and helpful the whole time. We stayed in two different rooms, both clean and equipped with what we needed for a holiday. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were small but worked perfectly and had good showers. The rooms were a good size with nice balconies. It was quiet, with no noise reaching us, and the beach is across the road. Lovely restaurants, bars, and shops are nearby, and the food and drinks cost less than average while still tasting good. The pool area was clean and so quiet it felt private. Akatos is a clean, comfortable, no-frills hotel with everything you need and plenty around it. We'd recommend it, and if we holiday in Crete again, we'll definitely return.
