Asterias

We somehow left our passports behind, which caused a bit of panic while we were in Kos overnight for our flight home. Al arranged to have them sent on the next ferry for us to collect, so the crisis was averted. We won’t forget that in a hurry. Big thanks to Al and Kitty, and hopefully we’ll visit again. We spent 3 lovely days at Asterias. Al and Kitty were excellent hosts and great to deal with. It was one of our favourite places we’ve ever stayed while island hopping, and we only wish we could have stayed longer. Our room was the biggest we’d stayed in, and I loved the decor. The pretty terrace felt like another room. The bathroom was a decent size, and the little kitchenette was perfect for what we needed. The beach and restaurants are a stone’s throw away, though the steps down could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. We managed fine. I especially enjoyed a late night visit from their lovely black and white cat and meeting their dog, Miranda. I was missing our two dogs back home.

Al and Kitty were very accommodating and helpful, and gave us great recommendations. We’re grateful, and will recommend both Leros and Asterias to our friends. We hope to visit again. Thank you so much! K, M, M&M xx We had a relaxing week on Leros island and really enjoyed our stay at Asterias. The apartment was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The location was perfect, with a stunning view of the harbour and hills. The children had a great time at Pandeli beach and miss the cats, especially the friendly Miso!

Al and Kitty are delightful and clearly know how to run a quiet, comfortable place that fits the classic Greek island atmosphere. Leros was a lovely surprise, very quiet with excellent restaurants. I loved this hotel and hope to return for a longer stay. The only reason I gave the location 4 stars is the number of steps down to it.

The bay views are overwhelming, and the rooms are arranged with a great sense of style. Al and Kitty are absolutely gentle people who will tell you anything you need to know about the island. I stayed at their place for two days in October with my parents and my best friend, and it was just amazing, one of the most wonderful accommodations I’ve ever been to. And then there’s their beloved cat Hercules. 😻
