Atrion Hotel

We weren't staying at the hotel, but after checking out of a nearby Airbnb we still had nine hours until our flight. They let us leave our luggage there, then use the pool, bathrooms, and restaurant while we waited :)

The food is excellent, with plenty of variety, and the pool bar will deliver to your lounger or room. They can even cater for gluten-free food. The rooms are good value and a decent size, with daily cleaning except on Sunday. The shower's a bit iffy, though, and water can spill across the bathroom, so you'll have to improvise. Location is a big plus. The beach is across the street, with lots of supermarkets and restaurants close by. The hotel has four stars, but I still think a few things are missing to justify that rating. There don't seem to be enough loungers for all the guests, and by 11AM you're usually out of luck. Guests leave towels to reserve loungers and turn up with their bags hours later, despite signs telling them not to. Staff don't seem to enforce the rule. I'm sitting here and can count 15 beds still reserved, not counting the ones in the pool. Yesterday I saw nearly 10. There are two more loungers, but they're reserved for guests who buy champagne or something.

The bathroom setup was the one awkward part. It had a shower room and a toilet, with the sink outside between the bedroom and shower. There was no door screening the sink area, so people in the bedroom could see in. After a shower everything was so wet that we had to get dressed in the toilet. Otherwise, we had a lovely holiday at Atrion. The hotel is clean and in a fantastic spot near the beach, shops, bars, and restaurants. The pool is a great size, though there's no gradual walk-in. There were plenty of loungers, and it was refreshing not to have to get up early for one. You could order drinks and snacks from your lounger using a QR code. Sudesh was a particularly pleasant waiter and also worked in the restaurant in the mornings. Breakfast was good, and the choices changed each day. There are loads of restaurants up the street from the hotel. We only found that out as we were heading home!

Service was impeccable throughout our stay, and every staff member we met was friendly. A special mention to the cheerful Klavdia, who served us with a smile each morning. When we arrived, receptionist Eleni gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the hotel. We left feeling cared for and welcome. A delightful experience, highly recommended! Thank you for everything!
