We had a great stay here and found it a good base for exploring the west of the island. Chania is less than 20 minutes away by car and well worth a visit. The staff were friendly throughout, the cleaners did an excellent job, and the late-flight shower and towel service was a thoughtful extra. We didn’t try breakfast, so can’t comment on it. Toward the end of October, many nearby places, including most beach bars, start closing for the season, but we liked the quieter, more relaxed beaches. Our spacious two-bedroom apartment suited our family well. There were two bathrooms, one with a bath and one with a shower, which made getting ready easier. The kitchen was compact but well equipped, including a handy sandwich toaster. It had only one power socket, though, which made using several appliances tricky. We also found the sink plugs didn’t work properly and there weren’t sockets for shavers or electric toothbrushes. We didn’t report those issues, but the staff seemed helpful and we’re sure they’d have fixed them quickly. My husband and I found the beds unsupportive and the pillows too high, though that’s personal preference. The pool area was lovely and clean, but the water felt a little cold in late October. It also went into the shade around 2-3pm.

The apartment was spotless, the staff were friendly, and I thought the hotel itself was architecturally beautiful. The room size was okay, and the pool was acceptable. Breakfast was tasty with a decent selection, but after seven days it got repetitive. They could add something new now and then. We were told on arrival that our apartment wasn’t available because of “technical problems.” I suspect the rooms had been double booked that day. We moved into our accommodation the next day, where the TV didn’t work, the shower was broken, the fridge door wasn’t working properly, and the wardrobe door couldn’t open because of the bedside chest of drawers. Some of those things were fixed quickly. What I couldn’t accept was the third auxiliary bed: instead of the one shown in the pictures, we got a sitting bench covered with thin, hard foam. The receptionist ignored me when I raised it. Thankfully, the lovely maid improvised a mattress from a quilt, which made the bed more tolerable. There were ants as well, and the back part of the hotel was often unlit at night, making it hard to see your way to the room.

The people working here were the best part of our stay. Everyone, from reception and the bar to the cleaners, was friendly and professional. Maria, thanks for teaching me so many Greek words! 🇬🇷 We had a fantastic family holiday. The apartment was lovely and very clean, and the location was excellent. Cross the road and there’s a long beach lined with top notch restaurants. It was easy to find a sunbed by the pool because you’re not allowed to leave your towel on one when you’re away from the pool. Breakfast was okay, and I loved the bread.

For a quiet holiday, I’d definitely recommend this hotel and area. It’s near beaches, shops, and restaurants, but away from the noisier, tackier spots. The buildings and pool area are lovely, and the calm setting seems ideal for families with young children or couples. Our room was large, with excellent air conditioning, which was essential in July, plus a good bathroom and shower. The furnishings are simple, but the mattress was comfortable, and there were blackout curtains, a small kitchenette, and a fridge. We had a balcony with a table and chairs, but it faced the half-finished building next door, so we didn’t use it. That wasn’t the hotel’s fault. Some rooms are much smaller, though they have the same facilities and a nice outdoor patio. There’s a restaurant and bar by the pool, with shade and buffet breakfast. It was a standard continental spread, but each day had a different fresh bread and homemade mini pancakes. Traditional tavernas are about a 15-minute walk away, while nearby Platanias has bars and souvenir shops. Buses to Chania run regularly and take about 30 minutes, though they can get very crowded with tourists. The closest beaches are a five-minute walk away. For much nicer beaches, I’d walk a little farther, to just before Agia Marina. The water there is warm and shallow, and there’s a lifeguard, which is great for children.
