The hilltop setting gives the hotel stunning views, and the beach bar was a nice touch. It’s only a pleasant three- to four-minute walk downhill to the beach. The drink selection was broad, with acceptable quality for an all-inclusive stay. The hotel carries an official five-star rating, but it feels dated and no longer meets that standard. It may have deserved the rating 10-20 years ago. The higher rating also means a higher local tax, which feels unjustified for the current standard. The food was a letdown. There was some choice, but it felt like eating just to stave off hunger, not for enjoyment. The warmers were poor, so meals were consistently cold; only the omelet and some pasta came out hot. There’s one shared pool surrounded by charming loungers, and the area was decent, though it needed a proper cleaning. There’s also a children’s pool that nobody used, and another pool near the sea that was really, really dirty. The staff were excellent overall, apart from the pool bar bartender. Everyone else gave top-notch service.

Our room was spacious and clean, the pool area looked gorgeous, and the private beach was pristine. The Italian restaurant was amazing. Perfect!

The dining staff were pleasant, and the location was okay. The food was neither great nor terrible, but the overall stay was bad, and management’s response made it worse. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We booked a side sea view in the main building, but were put in an annex that costs less, looking out at an abandoned building and other buildings that blocked any decent view. There was no side sea view. The electricity was off when we arrived, the fridge leaked into a puddle by the bed, and after we called reception they turned the power on but left us to clean up the water. The bathroom doors were dirty, and there was just one glass for a room meant for two. The hotel and room felt worn and dated, maybe three stars at best, not five. When we raised the mismatch with reception, they said they were overbooked and couldn’t do anything. The manager told us the same thing, as if their overbooking was our problem. They offered a different annex even farther from the main building we’d paid for. We refused, and only then did the manager eventually offer us a room in the main building the following day. The next day we got the room we’d booked, with the side sea view. It still didn’t feel like a five-star room, but it was a big improvement. I assume the good reviews come from people who get the main building. Their stay may be decent, though it still doesn’t deserve five stars.

The Galini Sea View has some good points: it’s modern and clean enough, the pool area is nice, the omelettes at breakfast are good, the beds are comfortable, and some staff are genuinely kind. But it isn’t a real five-star resort. I’d originally given it a balanced review, but the management reply was full of excuses and misleading statements, so I’ve changed my rating to one star. The Wi-Fi was so poor it was practically unusable in most areas, despite being described as reliable. Drinks were low quality, with cheap alcohol that gave me a headache after one glass. Too many things cost extra, including in-pool gazebos and even the room safe. The bathroom cabinet was damaged, and all the dispensers had generic blue liquid. Groups playing with water goals made the pool noisy and chaotic. There was no real atmosphere or music, so it felt lifeless beside nearby hotels. The walk to the beach was steep and uncomfortable, far from the “sea view comfort” idea. Management denied or distorted these problems instead of acknowledging them. They even implied that guests who found the entertainment lacking must have “misunderstood,” which is absurd. Other reviews show these issues keep coming up. A professional five-star team would take criticism seriously instead of getting defensive or trying to rewrite reality. The hotel has potential, but poor management and dishonest communication have ruined it.

We came to Galini Sea View Hotel at the end of July after seeing mixed reviews, so our expectations were realistic: decent value, not five-star luxury. It gave us the sort of stay we wanted. The staff worked hard and were consistently friendly and helpful. The guest relations person by reception was excellent with trip help and advice, and the pool bar team were fun and very friendly. We used the reasonably equipped gym a lot, which was a lifesaver with the air conditioning. Our room was clean and functional. The food was enjoyable, with something for everyone and no fixed meal times, which made things feel relaxed.
