We arrived at midday, but our room wasn't ready until 3.30pm. We saw three other families get their keys while the maids had only just started on our room at 2.30pm. The room was basic but functional, on the ground floor, with two firm beds, lots of pillows and blankets, good air conditioning, a TV, and a mini fridge. The compact bathroom was fine. Our balcony had a table and two chairs. There was no cover or shade on the balconies except those on the top floor. The hotel itself was clean. Staff were polite, though not very approachable. The woman at reception was particularly hard to approach. We stayed three nights with breakfast, but I wouldn't pay for it if I had a choice. It was extremely basic and the products were poor. Greek yogurt was lumpy, the fruit was tinned with no fresh option, and the mini croissants were firm rather than fresh. The orange juice tasted like sweet cordial. There was also a dark juice that I didn't try. The food was covered, but the staff member used the same servers for cheese and ham, and the covers stayed raised on her side. There was a bowl of hard boiled eggs and a steel tray of fried eggs, but no extra heat underneath, so the egg was cold. The pool was good, a decent size, clean, and cleaned every day, with steps in. There's a shaded sitting area with tables and sunbeds, but limited shade and no extra umbrellas. The location was quiet and peaceful, an easy three minute walk downhill to the center, with a good supermarket, fabulous restaurants, and beach facilities. There was no evening hotel service. The main doors were locked, and nobody was around to help. At 1am we also had an uninvited guest, a two inch cockroach. My daughter was terrified, and we finally squashed it. The room had already been cleaned, and the doors hadn't been opened!
