The hotel has a unique beachfront location, a very good pool, and it's close to an amazing restaurant and many shops. There's also a bus stop for Chania very close by. The reception staff and bartenders were nice. Air conditioning costs 10€ per day, which seems fair enough. The rooms were quite bad, though, and the overall standard felt low. Ours wasn't clean enough, and the bathroom needed a deep clean. Water pressure in the bathroom was very low. The bed was small and uncomfortable. There were so many ants in the room that we got bitten many times during our stay, which was quite unpleasant. I don't think the sheets were changed for the whole week. I don't know if it was just our room, but I wouldn't choose this hotel or recommend it to a friend.

Christina and Tito made us feel very welcome. We laughed a lot, and they gave us great tips for travel, food, and activities, including Samaria Trek, Balos Beach, Chania Town, and Kalypso Beach. We can't wait to book again next year from Sydney Australia. My daughter and I just spent an incredible two weeks in a sea view room at Kato Stalos Mare. It's a modest, clean, traditional Greek hotel, and the price reflects that. The room had air conditioning, a kitchenette, and a balcony. The sunbeds are very affordable considering the Greek taxes, and the pool bar food is fresh and affordable too. The location and beach are quiet and clean. The hotel is on the main road, with bus service to Chania Town and beaches along the north coast. Restaurants, bars, mini markets, and a bakery are all within walking distance.

Crete at its best: a fantastic beach, good food, nice rooms, and quiet air conditioning. The staff are super friendly and speak Swedish fluently.

The owner even invited us to an amazing dinner, and there was fruit and wine waiting in our room with a little note wishing us a great stay. We asked in advance about beach towels and were told they'd have some for us. The next morning, two brand new towels were hanging in a bag on our door. The hospitality is just beautiful. The food is amazing!!! The bed was great, and we're picky about that. Everything was clean, there was enough space, and we were offered clean towels every day. The pool is lovely, and of course the place is right on the beach. The shower is a bit inconvenient, but for the price the quality is lovely. We had a great stay and I definitely recommend it. Thank you Nicos and team!

The beach is nice, but there are quite few sunbeds. Staff are friendly, but that's about all I can say in their favor. The rooms are very dirty, old, and tired. Food is OK, nothing special or extra. The four of us adults were booked into a room meant for two, three at most. They said they didn't have rooms for more than three, so why book us? One of us had to sleep on a very small, very hard mattress bed that broke the first night. We were given another one exactly the same. Wherever you look, there's dirt. We're definitely coming back to Crete, but definitely NOT to this hotel. They really need to step up their game. At most, it should be a one-star hotel.
