Minos Village

The staff were lovely, and the guests from all over the world were just as nice. We had a young child with us and were the only ones at the pool that week, so it felt especially relaxed. The pool isn't huge, but that suited us fine. Rooms are modern and very clean, with cleaning done almost every day. It's only a few minutes' walk to a long stretch packed with shops, restaurants, bars and beach. A cracking hotel that puts plenty of four-star places to shame.

The pool is beautiful, the cocktails are VERY NICE, and the staff are kind and helpful without hovering. It's a comfortable place to sleep and spend the day by the pool, and the breakfast buffet is decent too. There's plenty of yoghurt, fresh fruit and pastries, though the bacon and sausages were odd, more like fried ham and mini hot dogs. The rooms are decent, and the air conditioning is dated but works REALLY well. If you ask, the cleaners will freshen the room daily. One annoyance is that there's no dishwasher or cleaning gear for washing dishes. Our fridge also switched off now and then overnight, leaving food spoiled and drinks warm. Staff checked it and said it was fine, but the problem kept coming back intermittently.

We stayed for two weeks in May and really enjoyed it. The area is very quiet, with the main road, restaurants and shops close by if you want to cook in the apartment. The kitchen could use more utensils, though. The hotel has a small bar that serves food, and the Greek pizza is highly recommended. The bartender was lovely and always made sure we had the best. There's a small pool, but we never had trouble finding space, and everything was clean and nice throughout. Breakfast had a good range, from scrambled eggs to yoghurt. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, with advice on sights and good restaurants. Rooms are cleaned every day and the bed is made unless you ask them to skip a day. I'll be back!

The bar has a nice range of Greek beers as well as the usual international drinks, and the barman was especially friendly. Breakfast is limited, but the hot and cold choices are good. There's a nice pool with a section for kids. A very clean little complex, cosy because it's small.
