Pantanassa Villas

The accommodation itself was amazing, with great facilities, spotless cleanliness and beautiful views. Before we arrived, communication was excellent, and we arranged airport transfers both ways plus a car hire for our stay. The villa owner and the other services involved were great throughout. I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

The outdoor areas were a real treat, especially the upper balcony for sunsets. The garden is overlooked by villas with higher balconies, so curtains on the downstairs kitchen windows would have given a bit more privacy at night. It mostly felt private, though, and being overlooked would matter mainly if you want to sunbathe topless. We also loved seeing the sunrise from the upstairs bedroom, with the sea visible through the window opposite the bed. The hot tub was there too, but sadly we didn't get around to using it. Villa Pannatanas is beautiful, spotless and nicely furnished, with a modern interior that had everything we needed. Outside, there was plenty of room to sunbathe and relax. The pool was a good size and was maintained during our stay, as was the grass. We stayed five days and had a fantastic time. It's in the hills, about a three minute drive from Agia Marina and roughly 25 minutes from Chania. It's a peaceful getaway, though I'd say a rental car is a must because the hill is very steep and shopping without transport would be difficult. The Wi-Fi wasn't completely reliable and was slow with bigger web pages, including for work. We used phone data instead, so it wasn't a problem for us, but it could be an issue if you depend on Wi-Fi. The cleaners, maintenance workers and owner were all pleasant to deal with, and check-in and check-out were easy. They kindly accommodated our late arrival, close to 11 pm. About the earlier complaint of ants outside and bugs in the pool, we can only say the pool was cleared of bugs every morning. Bugs can land in any outdoor pool during the day, and the filters worked well. We were fine with fishing out the occasional one ourselves. We had a great stay and were sad to leave. We could easily have spent a couple of weeks there. If you're after a peaceful break in a beautiful spot, we'd happily recommend it. Thanks for having us!

Be careful about booking this place. We reserved it for one night and paid 150€. The pool had both dead and live bugs in it, and the internet was so slow that my partner couldn't work, which matters because they work in investments. At sunset, around 8 pm, the owner sent someone to clean the pool, so we couldn't use it. He was rude and said it was our responsibility to tell him the pool was dirty. It seemed to me he might not have cleaned it for weeks. When we said we weren't satisfied, he offered to give 50% back if we left that night. We couldn't find somewhere else to check in at that hour. After that, he never messaged us to try to sort things out. We spent a month in Crete and stayed in 20 different villas. This place wasn't worth the money or the stress, and the owner didn't make us feel appreciated as customers. Stay away.

The house was beautiful and very clean, with a big fridge, a washing machine with tablets, an ironing board and separate air conditioning on each floor. The shower worked well. We had a ground-floor living room, small kitchen and bathroom, plus an open staircase to the upper floor. Upstairs was a big bedroom with a double bed and sofa bed, a sink and balcony, along with another small bathroom. The terrace had a table, four chairs and two good sunbeds. The pool stayed clean throughout. A couple of insects fell in over the whole stay and stayed there a few hours, no reason to complain. Service, including fresh sheets and bathroom towels, came every two or three days. There was a parking spot right outside the door. We spent eleven pleasant days in September 2021 at Tepsichore Villa. Stamatis was friendly during our inquiry and booking, though we never met him in person. A very friendly, diligent woman looked after us and did the cleaning. The paved road up to the house was steep and narrow in places, just something to be aware of. The view was stunning, apart from one house in front, and the area and nearby guests were quiet. A few little luxuries were missing for us: a sun umbrella for breakfast outside, a dishwasher and a toaster. Still, we'll come back!
