Tony's Beach

For a calm, relaxing holiday with a bit of Greek spirit, this is a lovely choice. If you’re after loud music and people shouting, it probably won’t suit you. The hotel is small and family run, and Nikos, his family and the team are wonderful hosts who pay attention to guests’ special needs. Some studios now have grab rails for disabled guests, and Nikos bought a pool lift, which makes getting into the pool much easier for people like me who have trouble walking, or makes it possible at all. The studios are roomy, very clean and each has a little terrace. There’s a nice breakfast buffet, though you can also make your own in the small kitchen. Right by the beach with only a low wall between, the hotel looks out over Vromolithos Bay, a little island with a white church, and the Leros windmills and castle up on the hill.

The pool is lovely, with spots where you can sit right in the water, and there are sunbeds along the beach wall facing the whole bay. We also had lunch from the pool bar, a few simple choices and every one was delicious. Everything is immaculate, with gorgeous flowering bushes all around. Our room was a good size and had a stunning sea view. There are three accommodation blocks with 20 apartments altogether. Breakfast is available, but we made our own and enjoyed it on the balcony. The photos really don't capture how blissfully lovely the place is. The staff were all friendly and helpful. A few minutes' walk up a pretty steep hill gets you to three excellent tavernas with very good food. We'd love to come back.

Right on Vromolithos Beach, Tony’s Beach hotel has beautiful sand and crystal clear water. The waves can be lively on windy days, though sometimes the sea is very calm. The hotel feels like paradise, and Nikos at reception gave us a helpful introduction to things to do around Leros when we arrived. Our quaint room had everything we needed, including a kitchenette, a small sitting area, a very nice bathroom and a balcony overlooking the water. The view is second to none. Highly recommend staying here!

I've tried other places in Leros, including more expensive ones, but Tony's Beach Hotel is still my favorite. The rooms are large and clean, with mosquito nets, and the staff are friendly. Nikos is a great person to know, always ready to help with anything, from places to eat to car and motor rentals. I hope to be back very soon. See you again!
