Having a car is necessary to get around and enjoy the area, but the peaceful surroundings made for a lovely, relaxing stay. Our room was clean and cozy, and the view was stunning. Hotel Ambelos has plenty of charm and a warm, welcoming feel. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Andreas was especially kind, attentive, and helpful throughout, and it was clear he really cared about making guests happy. We highly recommend the hotel and would be glad to return.

A beautiful little beach is just a short walk away, and it has at least one fantastic restaurant. In nearby Agia Pelagia, there are a few more quality restaurants and another lovely small beach. The hotel itself is off the beaten track, with spectacular views and the feel of a rustic old village, complete with a spectacular pool. It's a great place to set down your stress and leave the world behind for a while. The pool at Ambelos is a good size and very deep at one end. There were plenty of beds and lots of shade from umbrellas and a lovely tree. The staff were super friendly and helpful, a joy to deal with. We stayed in the first house just inside the gate. It had an open living room and kitchen area, with a bedroom and en-suite off the main room. The rustic-style buildings are solid and very well maintained. I loved everything about our stay and will come back if we return to Crete. If you're after somewhere out of the way, book here and enjoy it.

My wife and I had a great time here. The villas have everything you need, the beaches are close, and the pool is really nice. There's plenty of parking too. We liked everything! 🥰

A lovely place for anyone wanting to get away from the city rush and enjoy comfort and quiet. The new pool is great, big, and always clean. The atmosphere is very peaceful, and the staff are so kind, especially Andre, the owner, and the girls working there. I recommend staying here if you're looking to relax ☺️
