The owner, who works in the supermarket downstairs, was so friendly and helpful, and the price was good too. The modern room had everything we needed for a few days. We also had a sunny balcony for most of the day, a fantastic shower, and comfy beds.

He started by offering to lower the price from 30 euro to 28 euro, but when I made a counteroffer, he said, "come back next year," took the shirt from my hand, and walked away. If you offer a lower price, you should expect people to counter, then haggle back and forth instead of throwing a fit. The owner was rude, the products were overpriced, and the place isn't right on the seaside to justify those prices. Don't waste your money, go support a nicer person.

The staff at Giannis supermarket were awful, and he was really rude. Shops further down sell the same things and are friendlier to tourists.

Thanks, Gianni. The rooms are beautiful and very clean, and the bed was so comfortable. This is the best place in Agia Roumeli to sleep and pick up supplies, since the supermarket has everything.

It's nice to find some local products. But they try to get you to pay cash for your purchases and don't offer a receipt. This sort of thing happens all around Crete, supposedly “because of covid”.
