Dora Pool Studios by Konnect, 150m from the Beach

The owners are lovely, friendly and always happy to help. Thanks to Kostas and team, we had another happy, stress-free stay. That's why we've returned so many times over the years. It's quiet and relaxing despite being close to everything: restaurants and bars are just a couple of minutes away, and the long sandy beach is a 10-15 minute walk. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect.

The room looked nicer in the pictures than it did in person, and I wouldn't recommend this place or its customer service. I spent a week there in August and felt I'd wasted my Corfu vacation. I paid 1k for the week, so tourists should know what they may be getting for that price. The two single beds had old mattresses, and the sheets and towels were old too. The bathroom was dated and didn't work well; my toilet didn't even have a cover. There was a strong sewage smell, along with a strong smell from the kitchenette. Sheets were changed after four days, in August, and towels after two. When I spoke to the manager, he wasn't customer-oriented at all.

The staff were welcoming and pleasant, and the bathroom, though basic, was clean, with a good, powerful hot shower. The restaurant run by the same people gives residents a 10% discount. I loved the toast with jam and honey. Shops, bars and restaurants are a short walk away on fairly flat ground, and there's one nightclub in the resort. If you want a late drink and a game of pool, the local bar yazzoos stays open late. The resort itself is calm, quiet and relaxing, and the location is spot on. The rooms are very basic, with single beds, a simple hob and a fridge. You'll need to buy your own toilet roll, and the towels don't leave much to the imagination. There also aren't enough loungers by the pool. People put towels on them early, then don't show up until around lunchtime. It's selfish and annoying, and staff ought to take the towels off and throw them in the pool. Would I come back? No. I've been to Corfu twice and would rather go somewhere that suits someone too ambitious to sit around reading all day. Still, I'd recommend this place to people who do enjoy that.

The only thing that bothered me was how firm the mattresses were. Otherwise, I'd happily stay here again. We had a large room with twin beds, a small en-suite shower and toilet, and a kitchenette with all the basics. The balcony looked over a good-sized pool, and it was excellent value for money. The little picturesque town has plenty of bars, shops and restaurants.
