Aphrodite Apartments

The host made us feel welcome right away and was helpful throughout our stay. We found the peaceful setting ideal for relaxing, with a lovely sandy beach, little shops, and cozy restaurants all easy to reach. It was a nice base for resting and exploring the island.

We were three people staying five nights, and the hygiene was poor. There were ants everywhere, including in the bed, mold on the ceiling, and lots of brown and red marks on the sheets. The AC leaked and staff only left us a bucket. After two days, the cleaner brought just one fresh towel for all three of us. If you're okay with all that, good luck 👍🏼

The apartment was spotless, with clean bedrooms and a nice kitchen. It sits in a peaceful garden surrounded by nature, and the view is beautiful. The owner was pleasant and polite. I'd happily recommend it and plan to return with my family next year.

The balcony view was great, and we liked having air conditioning. The rooms were old but seemed fair for the price, and we slept alright, though noise carries through the whole complex. We booked one night as a couple and went away disappointed by how confusing the stay was. We asked the maid, the only worker around, if we could leave our bags and return to check in at 2 pm. She spoke no English, so we used a translator. She called the boss, who said we should pay her to get the room. We only had a larger bill, so paid 10 euros extra, and card payment wasn't available then. It took a strangely long time, and the maid returned the change only after calling the boss twice. We understood she might not have had money on her, but thought we could sort things out with the boss at 2. We couldn't tell if the room was just for our luggage or actually ours, and the boss didn't clarify when we called. He never showed up at 2, so we didn't know whether to wait or get on with our day. At checkout, he told us by phone to leave the keys in the door. We never saw him in person, and it felt odd to have to ask three times to get basic information. The dishes looked used and not properly washed, so I cleaned them myself with a dirty sponge. There were marks in the toilet bowl that wouldn't flush away, perhaps buildup from the water. The shower swung between cold and boiling hot, and the towels smelled old and sour. I suggest bringing exact cash if paying there. The boss later asked on the phone whether we'd paid cash or card, so maybe card payment is possible. I guess the rooms are what you pay for.
