A very friendly elderly couple run this clean and tidy hotel, and the rates are great. It has everything you need for a stay at Ikaria, with Agios kyrikos, the thermal springs, afternoon walks, places for wine and dining, and massages all close by. We’d go back in a heartbeat. 😃🩷

We chose Nefeli Hotel in Therma because it’s easy to get around on foot and convenient for the therma. The mineral springs are easy to reach from the beach, where you can enter a cave or grotto in the ocean. Along the harbor, local restaurants serve healthy local food. I’m told Ikaria has 85 kinds of local greens, and we tried as many as we could. Ikaria itself was a lovely surprise: remote, beautiful and not crowded with tourists. We’re taking a trip through several islands this year, and wish we’d saved Ikaria for last. Think of the town as a spa, a chance to recharge and reflect.

The owners are very pleasant, and the rooms are really clean. The hotel is in a convenient spot in Therma, near the island’s main port at Agios Kyrikos, and the sea is only a two-minute walk away.

The rooms were comfortable, and the location was perfect. What really stood out were the hosts: so warm and welcoming, always there if we needed anything, and happy to share tips. They were kind in such a genuine, positive way.
