Milos beach is one of the best, in my opinion, though you can only get there by boat or by hiking for about 20 minutes. The little village’s restaurants and shops are charming, and it’s a wonderful place to visit at least once. The downside is that nobody cleans the village beach. It’s very small and busy, so that’s really bad. It’s a great place to stay if you don’t have a car.

There are lots of restaurants and tavernas nearby, so the area feels very active. The beach looks nice, but it’s small and crowded. It’s fairly easy to get there by car, though there’s no parking, so you’ll most likely leave the car on the main street and walk about 7-10 minutes. The water is clean and quite deep, like at most beaches on the island’s west side.

The scenery is beautiful and the water is so clear. The beach gets busy, so it’s best to arrive early, and bring an umbrella because there’s no shade. You walk down a path to reach it, passing shops, tavernas, and cafes. Boats to Milos Beach run often; when we were there in August, several were going back and forth. It cost 3 euros for adults, while children rode for free. Milos is beautiful and much larger, so it feels less crowded.

The water is wonderfully warm, and the beach is beautiful. Subtle wave breakers keep the waves low, which is good for children. But there’s very little infrastructure, and the problems add up: parking is hard, especially in high season, and there are too many people then. The pedestrian street has a ramp down to the beach, but none continuing to the sea, so wheelchair users will have difficulty. There are no public toilets, no place to change, and no shower or foot wash. At least ten boats are illegally parked in the bay at any given time. It’s an amazing place, but the facilities are minimal.
