Odyssey Hotel

The management were very sweet and polite, and they upgraded us to a studio for part of our stay. We’d booked through a travel agency and hadn’t realized how different the studio and standard rooms were. They felt like two separate hotels. The studio is modern and well equipped, with a full kitchen. The standard room, by comparison, is quite dated and could really do with renovation, though it was very clean. Keep that in mind when booking. Breakfast is basic but enough: boiled eggs, pastries, cheese, ham, cereal, jams, three kinds of juice, coffee and tea. It’s mostly the same each day. If you’re expecting a two star stay, you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised. If your expectations are higher, Agios Nikitas may not be the right place for you.

Breakfast had plenty to choose from and was delicious, and the pool is big enough for a really nice swim. We felt at home here, especially seeing the swallows watching us from their nests. The staff welcomed us with a warm smile, and our room was clean, though some rooms still need renovating while others have already been done. The beach is about 300m away, with taverns and shops close by. We were very happy with our stay and plan to return soon. I’d recommend it.

We’ve been coming to Agios Nikitas every year, and this hotel has some advantages over places offered by travel companies. Its pool is a welcome extra, since Santa Marina is almost the only other hotel around with one. We stayed in an upper apartment. It was spacious and had a kitchen and balcony, though it hadn’t been renovated. The breakfast was very good compared with other hotels, and the location puts you right in the town center.

We used this as a great stopover. The staff were great, and the pool was a highlight. Our room needs an upgrade, but I can see they’re renovating other rooms, so hopefully the whole place will be fresh before long. Just over the hill is the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen!
