A simple but practical three-room house at an average price, with a garden, parking and a lovely sea view. It’s near Agios Nikitas village and Milos Beach on Lefkada. The host was very kind and hospitable.

Everything was clean and the facilities were great. The cats are lovely too. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the beach, though there’s no sidewalk, so you have to walk along the road.

The house itself was beautiful and we had a good time, but it needs more work and better upkeep. Our stay was only two days, and the bathroom smelled of sewage and damp. We didn’t report it during that short visit. On the last day, we checked under the beds for anything we might have left behind and found socks and a lot of dust. We don’t usually inspect a place’s cleanliness, but that looked like it had been cleaned in a hurry. The bedrooms were very dark, almost underground, with small windows. Water also ran constantly down the side of the veranda, possibly from the cesspool. At 150 euros a night, I expected more space and better maintenance. For me, it was worth around 50-80 euros per night, so renting it at that rate felt like poor value. The host asked why we hadn’t mentioned our concerns during the stay. We didn’t notice the dirt until the last day, and two days didn’t feel like much time to raise the bathroom issue. Please don’t dismiss the review by asking why we didn’t say something sooner. I saw another guest’s review from June with the exact same complaints. The host also referred to previous positive reviews, but there were only five of them. I understand that the platform adds a charge and that the host receives a different amount. It was still the host’s choice to list on Booking and Airbnb. I run a small business too, so I know negative feedback about something you’ve built can be hard to hear. But it’s important to listen and accept criticism so things can improve. When offering a service, you should do the best you can for the price. I wouldn’t attack someone for leaving a negative review. I’d address the problems they mentioned, especially when more than one guest has pointed them out. Have a nice summer!

The kitchen was a proper one, so I could cook just like at home and save money for drinks in the wonderful village of Agios Nikitas. The place was spotless, beautifully styled and had all the amenities, with an amazing view. The host was great too. We’ll be back next summer!
