I like this place.

The location makes this a great base for a city break in Agios Nikolaos. The harbor, tavernas, bars, cafés, and shops are practically outside, and the small town beach is about a five-minute walk away. It’s also handy for exploring eastern Crete. Just remember you’re in the heart of the city: music from nearby bars and clubs can be heard in the evenings and at night. It didn’t bother us, as we liked the lively atmosphere, but anyone wanting absolute quiet should bear it in mind. There’s no parking right at the apartment, though free and paid spaces are nearby. Sometimes you need a bit of patience and ingenuity to find a spot, but parking is manageable and not a real problem. We stayed in Apartment 2 from April 27 - May 5, 2026, and were impressed by how modern, spacious, and clean it was. It’s furnished to a high standard, with quality and a pleasant atmosphere clearly in mind. Two small balconies, one at the front and one at the back, add to the sense of space. The owner was quick, friendly, accommodating, and communicated easily in English even before we arrived. She answered practical questions and shared useful suggestions for trips, sights, and restaurants in Agios Nikolaos and nearby. Check-in by PIN code was straightforward and especially handy for a late arrival. We can highly recommend St. Nicolas Soho Apartment to anyone looking for comfortable, modern accommodation in a central spot.

We tried both apartments during our weeklong stay, one on the first floor and one on the second. Both were clean, modern, well kept, spacious, and equipped for sleeping, relaxing, meals, and working online. Each had windows on one side and a balcony on the other. The second floor gets more light and has a slightly larger kitchen with a dishwasher. Its kitchen table seats four comfortably, compared with two in the first-floor apartment. The landlady was very friendly, easy to reach, and quick to handle our questions and requests. The location is ideal for the center, harbor, and shopping. Truly lovely.
