Letsos Hotel

The room was nothing like the photos on Booking.com, and the bathroom was disgusting. The fridge kept making noise all night while it was cooling, and there were loads of mosquitoes in the room. Breakfast wasn’t worth what it cost, and we had to pay extra for nearly everything. I’m very glad we only stayed two nights.

The staff were really nice, and the hotel had everything you’d need. It’s a great base for exploring the north of the island, with an easy drive of about 30 minutes from the airport.

The bathroom leak made the last days miserable. A few days before our flight home, after a weather warning, we came back to find it flooded, with water coming through the light fitting and from the same spot as the earlier leak. We’d reported the first leak to reception after hearing dripping on our second night and finding a large one above the toilet. They patched it up, but it looked like it had happened many times before and hadn’t been properly fixed. We were already unpacked and didn’t have the energy to move rooms. When we reported the flood the next morning, nothing was done, so we spent the final two days with a dark bathroom. We’re not fussy, but this was our worst holiday. The pool looks lovely, but smells of sewage, and you have to walk past the sewage to reach the room, so sitting on the balcony was out of the question. It was meant to be a four-star hotel, and we paid €100 for 10 nights of tourist tax, but the room was nowhere near four-star. Our friends were in the newer, more expensive rooms, and their air conditioner broke on the first day. They were told it wouldn’t be fixed. Please don’t be fooled by the pool pictures. This is an awful hotel, and I didn’t even want to give it one star. The way it’s run is disgusting.

I was given four rooms, and every one was horrible. The mold made my lungs badly inflamed, so I asked many times for another room and eventually checked out early. I booked a different hotel through booking.com, and it was the best decision. I write unsponsored travel blogs about offourtable stays for single mums, and I’ve never experienced anything like this. Basic is fine with me, but dirty and unsafe isn’t. There was a gypsy wedding, with people drunk, fighting and climbing over the balcony. They didn’t ask them to leave because of the wedding and didn’t care about the other guests. Another family left too, saying they were traumatized. The shower was only cold, there was mold, the floor and bed were dirty, the TV didn’t work, the door wouldn’t lock, and there was a lot of limescale in the bathroom. The photos shown by the tour operator are really different. Honestly, that’s the tour operator’s fault, not the hotel’s. I gave them four chances by changing rooms, and they were all the same.
