Galaxy Hotel

I wouldn't recommend booking here. The photos gave a very misleading impression; the hotel is old and run down. Highway noise, including constant sirens and horns, made it impossible to relax during my five-night stay, despite the listing saying the rooms were soundproof. My friend and I had travelled nine hours from Methóni and arrived at midnight on the day of a taxi strike. The hotel had no transfer service, and they didn't answer our earlier call asking for help arranging one. I don't speak the local language, so getting around was difficult. The cleanliness was average and the beds were old. For what I paid, it wasn't worth it. The one bright spot was being near beach clubs and shops, and the morning staff helped me with directions around town.

I felt misled by the description online. The windows weren't soundproof, and on the lower floors you're right beside the coastal road. The breakfast room was advertised as being on a high floor, and that was even promised in my confirmation email, but it's actually in a basement below street level, next to a four-lane road and traffic light. I looked upstairs and saw a storage room that seemed unused for a long time. The staff were nice, but there are much better places in the neighborhood.

I don't understand the negative reviews. This place was amazing for the price, right by the beach and easy to reach from the airport. The staff were super friendly, everything was very clean, and breakfast was excellent and generous. We'll definitely come back. Huge thanks to Tasos and Daucia in the breakfast room, you were both great!

The hotel needs renovating soon. Its position beside the road is unfortunate, and some structural changes along with a reception desk to welcome everyone on arrival would help.
