Marilen

We had a refreshing, lovely stay at the Marilen and will definitely come back next time we’re in Leros. The pool came in handy, as the beaches are a little way off, and the hosts were very friendly. It’s good value for money. Our room was beautiful, modern, spotless, and had cooking facilities. The air conditioning worked great, and the bed was soft.

The hotel is close to the beach but away from busy Panteli, which meant easy parking and room to spread out. They have a rental car service right there too, which is very convenient. My stay in Leros was perfect, with clean, spacious, well maintained rooms and an amazing view. I definitely recommend it.

All the family members are lovely and helpful. The rooms are spacious and roomy, with a small kitchen and a large, home style fridge. I travel to Leros regularly for work and always stay at Marilen. It’s a nice family owned hotel, centrally located on the island, about the same distance from the bays and small towns. They also rent cars at a reasonable price.

The biggest problem was the cleaning lady leaving my ground-floor room unlocked after cleaning, at least three times during my 10-day stay. I hope nothing was taken, but that’s unacceptable. The room had only a thick curtain, so there was no visibility at all. The bathroom is tiny and awkward to use, and needs renovating as soon as possible. The kitchen had no window or ventilator, and the very basic dishes provided weren’t clean. The pool and the area around it are nice, and the children really enjoyed their time there. The hotel owners and staff were very friendly. Alinda, the nearest beach, is a five minute walk but narrow and noisy. Gourna, the next closest, is more than a 20 minute walk. There’s no public transport in the afternoon or evening, or at weekends, so you need to rent a car to get around.
