The shower screen broke while we were using it, leaving us with only a few scratches by luck. They never replaced it or even cleared the drain. Then they had the nerve to say they were kindly waiving the noise charge, as though we had caused the screen to fall on us. We could have been badly hurt by the damaged fittings. It was outrageous. There was no peace or privacy either. The owners are building right next door, with workers and equipment there every day, and our complaints about the noise went nowhere. Nikos, the owner's father, would turn up without warning several times a day and sit at our breakfast table. They also kept tabs on when we were around, and watched us on the beach, including what we wore. The house itself could be lovely: it's clean and in a beautiful spot in Ammoudia. But if you're after Greek hospitality, a quiet break, or any privacy, I strongly advise against booking here.

A walk along the river to the source of the Acheronta is well worth it. The beach nearby is beautiful and unusual, with the river right beside it, and there are plenty of other lovely beaches and towns within easy reach. We had a wonderful two weeks at the holiday home. The owners made us feel very welcome, the location was fantastic, and the house had everything we needed. It worked perfectly for our family with children.

The beach is so close that we left the car parked the whole time. The house had everything we needed for a summer holiday, and we had a lovely stay with our little boy, who was 3. Vasilis and Mr. Nikos were wonderful hosts. Thanks, we'll definitely be back.
