Hotel Spiros

We loved the food, especially the pita gyros, gyros portion and beef bisteki, which we thought were better than at the other Greek Taverna's in the village. The hotel was also spotless throughout, and the cleaning team clearly put in a lot of effort. There’s plenty of parking out front and nearby, and the extra shower by the entrance and the downstairs toilets near reception were handy. Spiros is at the north end of a small village, with the bay and sea just a short walk away. The hotel has two pools, one for children and one for general use. What really made our stay, though, was the family’s hospitality. Spiros and Aliki, along with Jana, Christos, and Angelo, were friendly and polite, and made us feel at home. The rest of the staff were just as kind and caring. We had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to coming back.

The room on the top floor was spacious and had a nice balcony. The TV had more German-language channels than I’ve ever seen, mostly Austrian and German ones. Just be aware that the toilet is the type where you put paper in the bin, not the toilet. The shower temperature and pressure varied at some hours, and the drain seemed partly blocked, so water stayed on the shower floor for quite a while. The hotel is at the northern end of a tiny village with two or three main streets, a short walk from the bay and sea. There are two pools, one for children and one for general use, plus a shower outside by the entrance stairs and another in the downstairs toilets near reception. Parking is available out front and close by. Staff were friendly, polite and caring. The restaurant was very good, especially the stuffed beef bisteki and its phenomenal sauce. The pizza could be a little better. Breakfast was the same each morning, with eggs prepared three ways and enough choice to keep you going until dinner. Nothing to complain about there. Cleaning was near perfect, always tidy and clean. The air conditioning was €7 per day, which felt a bit much, adding €49 to the bill. The fridge-freezer was slow to cool groceries, but patience helped. Tourist tax was 10.50 for two people for a week. We paid €20 for six extra hours in one room to store our things and shower. Our luggage was kept for a few hours in a guarded, hidden area while we waited for a late airport bus. We visited from 31.7.2023 to 7.8.2023.

The apartment was roomy, clean and very nice, and the beach is right across the street. We had a friendly host and plan to come back.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and very nice, with the beach close by. The owners were lovely and the food was delicious. Breakfast didn't have a huge variety, but there was enough.
