Villa Andreas

We were very satisfied with our two-night stay. The area is quiet and the beach is close, with sandy, shallow water that’s great for swimming with children. Ammoudia sits by the bay where the Acheron River flows in; there are restaurants and a small promenade there, plus several decent tavernas and two little grocery shops nearby. The rooms were clean and tidy, with small balconies and two chairs. Some apartments also have a living room. The bathrooms were nice. There’s a kettle, two tea bags, two portions of instant coffee, a fridge, and a coffee maker, though you need to bring your own filters and coffee. Soap is supplied, but not shampoo. There’s no breakfast, and parking is on the street. Reception is open in the morning until 2pm. If you need anything outside those hours, you can call the hostess. You can buy a beach chair, or get one free when you shop. One thing to be aware of: a hotel in Parga has a similar name. The Ammoudia hotel does NOT have a pool.

Ammoudia is a peaceful, picturesque village, and it reminded me of Sfantu Gheorghe-Delta / Romania. The fine sandy beach is only 2-3 minutes from Villa Andreas. We stayed in the section managed by Stavro and Nico. The brothers run a well-equipped bar and were very kind and quick when serving us. The two women at the villa, especially the owner Maria, were beyond what we expected. They were so kind, cleaned thoroughly every day, changed the linen every 3 days, and brought fresh towels daily.

It was a large apartment in a quiet spot, close to the sea.

Villa Andreas is a nice hotel in a quiet part of Ammoudia, with lots of families around. The sea stays shallow for about 40 m before it gets deep.
