NIK J.
A nice, peaceful spot for families, with parking, a swimming pool, a gym, and a church. The nearest village is 10-15 minutes away by car. It feels safe for children.

The pool was clean and pleasant, and there's an even nicer sandy beach about five minutes away that feels almost private. The apartment was comfortable and tidy. There's no room service, but the reception can provide towels or anything else you need. We really liked the peaceful, family-like atmosphere. Staff were wonderful, always happy to chat and offer tips for our time on the island. When we had trouble with a company, they even arranged a scooter for us. We'd gladly stay here again when visiting Kos.
Angela, the owner, was wonderful and went out of her way to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you! My room was a spotless little house with a beautiful view, especially at sunset. The Small Village felt like a hidden paradise, surrounded by lovely trees and orchards. It was so peaceful, and I had a beautiful, relaxing holiday. I'd recommend it without hesitation and hope I get the chance to return.
The Small Village was such a lovely place to get away from it all and relax. It was our first visit to Kos, but we definitely plan to return and stay here again. Staff were so kind and helpful that we ended up feeling almost like family. We never struggled to find a sunbed by the pool, and most days we had the place to ourselves for much of the day. Our one-bedroom apartment was spacious and cleaned to a very high standard. We ate at the hotel most nights. The menu is limited, probably because the hotel is small, but everything was freshly cooked, delicious, and excellent value. We hired a car for a couple of days to explore further afield, and took the shuttle to Mastichari on another day. A couple of small things could have made the stay even better. It would've been helpful to order basics like water, coffee, and milk before arrival. Our flight was late, and we didn't reach the resort until about 11 pm. We could get coffee at the bar, but having some in our room would've been nice. Also, breakfast runs until 10:30 am, but when we arrived around 9:30, the hot food had gone cold. Staff kindly made fresh eggs when asked, though it would've been nice to try the other hot dishes while they were still warm. These things didn't cause a big problem for us.
The pool was immaculate, with fresh water and a bar facing the sunset. We had a delicious meal beside it while watching the sun go down, and staff were careful to check the ingredients when my partner, who is allergic to cows' milk, needed to make sure the meal was safe. That was reassuring. The staff were kind and friendly too. The only downside is that a local power station is fairly close by, and its smoking chimneys look messy. You only notice it when leaving the complex, it isn't a big deal, and there's no smell. We hired a scooter in Mastichari so we weren't stuck, though we would have liked more choice of restaurants and bars nearby for evenings. All in all, a lovely hotel.
