Oniro Apartments

The rooms and sheets were clean, but that was the only bright spot for us. The apartment felt neglected, with old furniture, broken items, weak air conditioning, street noise all night, and mosquitoes. When we mentioned the bugs, the owner handed us a tablet and showed us how to deal with them ourselves. The TV mentioned in the description wasn't there, either. The kitchen was cramped, and there weren't enough chairs for our group of three. We also felt uncomfortable with how the owner treated us. He repeatedly knocked and came into the apartments despite our discomfort. He asked for extra payment for air conditioning, a fan, and even the elevator. We asked for a fan on the first night and were turned down, then got one the next night and were charged 2 euros for both nights. He also insulted our friends from abroad, calling them “shorty” and “cheap,” and asked about our salaries, suggesting we should pay more because we live abroad. We felt humiliated and unwelcome. Our stay at Oniro Apartments in Xiropigado was a complete nightmare. I strongly advise future travelers to choose somewhere else. The poor facilities and the owner's rudeness and invasive behavior made this an awful experience.

The main street location is handy, with the beach, a taverna, coffee shop, and mini market all less than a two-minute walk away. There's also a lovely balcony view. For one night, the room was adequate, and the larger bed's mattress was great. The smaller bed felt like a hammock, though, if you don't like a very soft mattress. The furniture and kitchen seemed quite old, and the place could use renovation. WiFi kept cutting out. The owner thought rain might be the reason and said it could be better on other days. There was no TV in our room, despite it being listed, though maybe other rooms have one. A bar downstairs played romantic songs from the 90s in the evening. It has a quirky old-time feel, with tapes, CDs, and a tape deck, and you can probably get drinks there. Smoking is allowed throughout the building, including in the rooms. At 45 euros a room, it seemed a bit expensive for what you get. Fine for a night, probably not for a longer stay.

For a cheap one-night stay, it was okay. The host was charming and everything was very clean, but the room was basic, the kitchen tiny, and the bathroom had a strange smell. It really needs decorating and renovation. I wouldn't stay longer.

Three of us paid for three beds, yet had only two chairs to eat on. The apartment was bad, and the old little man was uncultured. My advice is not to waste your money here. He didn't mention on Booking that air conditioning cost extra. He smiles at first, then charges you more for other services. Never again at ONIRO- Xiropigado 🌅 Peloponnese.
