Anemologio Studios

We had a perfect time in Kefalonia. The apartments were very nice, and the location was very good.

The agency suggested this place, but the photos gave a misleading impression. The terrace is shared by all the studios, so the apartment doesn’t feel private. The kitchen and bathroom look dated, though parts seem to have been renovated. Even for an apartment, it falls well short of EU standards. Hot water is available only from 10 am until 8 pm. The cleaner came every day, and cleanliness was clearly taken seriously, which was a real positive. But the tavern next door plays loud music until dawn. With the windows shut it’s bearable, though then the room gets stifling. There’s almost no view, and the surroundings aren’t appealing.

It’s in the center of the village, and the room was cleaned every day. The towels and bed linen were fresh and white. That’s why I gave it three stars, despite this being the worst place we’ve stayed during our four holidays in Greece. The studio is so small that a full-sized person can barely fit in the bathroom. The toilet tank leaked, the closet door had come off, and there was a strong musty smell, possibly from water around the sink. We had no hot water from 8pm to 10am, which is a long stretch. There’s no real view, just a dry prairie and an olive tree. The terrace is shared by all the rooms, so there’s no privacy.
