Dionysos Village Resort

We were there for a long weekend for our son's wedding celebration. The rooms were very good, the whole place spotless, and the staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool area, and breakfast was very good.

The rooms feel dated, breakfast gets monotonous, and that hill is a killer. On the plus side, the views are lovely, and the pool area and outdoor spaces are great.

My mum and I booked a week, and the trip was incredible. I’d been especially excited to visit Ithaca, and I completely fell in love with the island. The hotel had only been open for a week, but our room and the poolside were immaculate. We were always greeted warmly by friendly staff, and any issues were sorted quickly, so we felt completely at ease. The room was comfortable and clean, and I’d definitely return. It’s one of the few hotels I’ve stayed at that looked the same in person as it did in the pictures. Breakfast was standard, though some fresh fruit would have been nice. The bar food was good value and didn’t disappoint, and the drinks were good value too. We always enjoyed our meals. The god of wine and celebration would be very pleased.

I only stayed one night before heading to Patras for work. The first impression at check-in was great, with a very kind reception and good coffee served in a nice glass at the pool bar. The hotel is up on the Lassi hills, with a great sea view, a well-kept garden, and a beautiful pool with a bar. It’s near the airport, so you hear nearby air traffic. The location is remote, so I’d only recommend it with a rental car. My room was good, with AC and a terrace on the footpath, which had no privacy. A beer at 5 pm came in a 0.4 L plastic cup, which I thought was okay since I was reading in the sunbathing area. But when I came back to the bar at 10 pm and ordered another beer at the counter, it was served in the same size plastic cup. Ten seconds later, another guest got a full 0.5 L ice-cold glass mug for the same 4,50€ price. That left me speechless. Mine felt like a takeaway beer, so I went back to my room. There wasn’t any toilet paper in the room, on the holder or as a spare, so I had to ask reception for some. Reception had booked a taxi to Argostoli in advance and staff said it would cost 8€, but the driver charged 10€ and said it always costs 10 EUR when a taxi is booked. The hotel and taxi should give the same price. Otherwise, it suggests staff may not be trained or up to date, or that the hotel calls taxis whose drivers overcharge guests.
