We spent 10 days here and found the hotel wonderfully relaxing. The staff were great, the rooms clean and spacious, and even when full the place never felt crowded. The food was excellent at breakfast and in the restaurant. Since children aren’t allowed, the atmosphere around the pools was especially calm. Building work was underway between the hotel and beach, and occasionally made noise at the very front. You can’t see or hear it from the pool areas. The beach isn’t part of the hotel, and sunbeds there or on other nearby beaches cost extra, about 20E a day. With the lovely pool area, you may not feel like leaving anyway. Taxis can take you anywhere on the island. I’d recommend going to Argostoli between 8.30-11.30AM to see loggerhead turtles in the harbour. The taxi fare was 8E.

The staff were kind, smiling, and welcoming, and the pool area was beautiful. Around the two pools were wide, comfortable double beds with pillows, mostly shaded by trees or umbrellas. There was also a poolside bar for food and drinks, and everything we ordered tasted delicious. Breakfast was served in an intimate dining room, partly beside the lobby and partly on a beautiful balcony overlooking the sea. The setting felt pastoral and romantic, and both the design and the high-quality food were lovely. Next to the loby, the open-space bar also faced the sea, where we enjoyed a welcome gift of two glasses of white wine. Our room faced the sea and had a balcony with a little table, two chairs, and even a laundry rack. We loved sitting there in the afternoon breeze. The room was comfortable and clean. A maid came twice daily, once to clean and once to tidy, and we received bottles of water and a small chocolate on the pillow every day. It’s a stunning, adults-only hotel spread over a small but spacious area, with rooms on two floors facing the sea, pool, or gardens. A very pleasant experience.

The view was perfect, and the pool was clean and well looked after, just right for unwinding. The staff were caring and friendly and made us feel welcome. I’d highly recommend this hotel.

The breakfast team were the warmest and friendliest serving staff I’ve met. Most were from Albania, and they were lovely. The pool and loungers were comfortable and well maintained, nearby beaches were great, and the restaurant served good food at fair prices. Our room was cleaned thoroughly every day, with fresh towels. I did think the rooms need an update: the showers leaked, and without a smart TV there were only two English news channels. Building work opposite didn’t affect our stay, but the materials and rubbish left beside the road made the approach to the hotel look untidy. If it were my hotel, I’d complain about that. We really enjoyed our time at Thalassa and will be back. Thanks to all the staff, including the DJ in the cocktail bar.
