It’s up on the hill, away from the noisy center, so it’s a great spot when you want to rest. You do need a car to get to the center, though you can walk down the seafront road in about 10 minutes. If you’re looking for a relaxing place in Tethymno, this worked perfectly for us.

The beds are on the firm side, which won’t suit everyone, even if it might be good for your back. Still, the peaceful setting and short stroll to Arkasa’s old town are real advantages. It’s a family-style aparthotel, with a welcoming owner and his sweet little dog. Rooms are basic but have what you need, and the showers have warm water and good pressure, which isn’t always a given in Greece. Many rooms also have a lovely sea view.

The apartment is roomy and well equipped, and the terrace has a lovely sea view. The downside was the cleaning, which left a lot to be desired.
