We walked everywhere easily from here. It's under 20 minutes on foot to the Acropolis and its museum, and closer to the edge of Plaka, with only a manageable uphill stretch. There are lots of coffee shops nearby, plus a pharmacy and ATM right across the street. The apartment itself was one of the better ones I've rented, with spacious, comfortable rooms, plenty of storage, and nice furnishings, bedding, and towels. It was clean and modern, with good air conditioning, appliances, and bathroom fixtures. The balcony wraps around two sides and is very nice, but the listing's claim of a 360-degree view doesn't seem right. Kallirois is a busy street, so traffic noise is real. My group had mixed reactions: some found it like Times Square, while others weren't especially bothered. The apartment is on the third floor, with the entrance level called floor zero. The elevator works, though it's small, two people with luggage will barely fit. The building entrance looks dated and sits among motorcycle sales and repair shops. Those shops are neat, but the setting may put some people off, and the entry doesn't give a fair impression of the apartment inside. Don't judge the place until you've got in. One thing Americans should know is that in Greece toilet paper goes in the bin beside the toilet, not down the toilet. The bag needs to be taken each day to the big dumpster outside. If you need a flush toilet, you'd probably have to stay at a very expensive hotel. There was a mix-up when we first checked in. We had been told we could get in early, but then had to wait two hours and another hour because the apartment hadn't been cleaned as expected. On our second check-in, after a cruise in between, things went smoothly. The managers were generally responsive to concerns and helpful with travel arrangements.
The outside of the building looks dingy, but the apartment inside is really nice, newly renovated and comfortable. The service was responsive too.
There’s a big balcony, and inside it’s a spacious, recently renovated apartment with tasteful decor and all the essentials. It has three bedrooms and three full bathrooms, each with a shower and screen. The location is convenient for getting around, about a 10-minute walk to the Acropolis and about the same to central Athens and Monastiraki Square.
The apartment is beautifully furnished and in a great spot, about a 10-minute walk from Monastiraki Square. Highly recommended.
