AS-city hostel

The facilities were awesome, especially the bathrooms, and the place felt safe and clean. I didn’t mind the longer metro ride downtown. One request, please turn the hot water down a bit!

I could get around comfortably in the larger room they upgraded me to, which had an attached bathroom and enough space for my wheelchair. There happened to be availability that day. On my return from visiting another city in Greece, there was no room available, so I got to try the female Dorm instead. It was just as good and very comfortable, with six beds. Its bathrooms were separate from the room, so you had to go out to use them. The showers and toilets were in separate areas. The hostel is about 300 metres from the metro station, and the city centre is only two stops away on an easy ride. There are plenty of bakeries and restaurants nearby for a quick bite. Buses aren’t wheelchair friendly. There may be a few accessible ones, but it’s hard to know when one will arrive. The staff were so friendly and kind. Someone even showed me the nearest grocery shop in case I needed anything. I’d emailed ahead with questions, and they replied positively, which not everyone does. It seemed the owner had already asked the staff to take extra care of me. I’m very grateful for how comfortable they made my stay. The hostel has a large kitchen with a dining area on one of the floors, a beautiful lobby like a 4-star hotel, and storage where you can leave your bag and collect it later. There isn’t a wheelchair-friendly washroom, if that’s what you need, but otherwise all the facilities are there. It was worth every penny.

It’s near the city centre and quite close to the metro. The hostel was neat, and it’s the best one I’ve stayed in in Athens.

George was really helpful, and the location was good. The rooms were clean and spacious, with lockers. The hostel had opened about three months earlier.
