Athenian Montaza Hotel

I stayed for a week in July while attending a conference and had a great experience. The reception team and staff were professional, friendly, and the service was great. The rooms and bathrooms were super clean and comfortable, and breakfast was healthy and tasty. It's close to the center, just one bus stop from Siggrou-Fix metro. I tried the pesto pasta for dinner too, and it was phenomenal. I'd recommend this place anytime!

I felt really uncomfortable here and left a day before my booking ended to move to another hotel. The main issue was a camera pointed at my room's window. It showed the inside as well, including the bed, which was directly under the window. After that I kept the window and curtains shut and felt like a prisoner. I'd had the window open while smoking a cigarette completely outside, being careful not to let smoke into the room. Then the phone rang and a man at reception told me smoking wasn't allowed, which I understand. When I asked how he knew I was smoking, he said he could see me on camera. At checkout I told the receptionist this was completely illegal. He showed me the camera on the screen, and I took photos as proof. I also agree with most of the issues mentioned in earlier reviews. From the start, the place seemed very sketchy. A really bad experience, and I would avoid this hotel.

Alexander at the front desk was rude and arrogant. We were traveling with an agency and asked for an early check-in. He said the room wasn't ready, then gave two rooms in front of us to other tourists. When we tried to explain, he acted childishly and said, “do not talk to me anymore.” I can't recommend this hotel. The streets around it are horrible, with strip clubs everywhere, and we felt very unsafe.

Check-in was a terrible experience, especially dealing with Alexander. He was absolutely rude and even racist. We waited more than three hours for our room while he let other people check in. Ridiculous, and completely lacking in customer service. The location also isn't close to good sights or places. There are strip clubs all over.
