Olvia Suites

The room was cold, the AC barely worked, and it wasn’t very clean, with dust on the floor and a stain on the toilet. I could hear every conversation at reception, including one staff member speaking badly about a customer. Sleeping past 8am was impossible. When I complained, they didn’t offer another room or any other accommodation. I really regret staying there, and found the management and problem-solving close to zero. I can’t recommend it and won’t return. I was assigned a ground floor room right beside reception. Before arriving, I received no information at all. Nobody was at the desk when I got there, but a phone number was listed for emergencies, so I was able to get inside. I wasn’t told how breakfast worked or that I had to let them know the day before. As a result, I didn’t get breakfast on my first day, even though it was included in the price. They said they couldn’t get my personal details from the party handling the Booking reservation. I decided to leave early the next day and asked for breakfast. It was poor quality, with stale bread and a stale croissant. The hard-boiled egg wasn’t boiled at all, it was completely raw. I’d never had that happen before.

Getting around was easy, with bus and metro stops close by. Our room was compact but recently renovated and very clean, and the bed was especially comfortable with extra pillows. Breakfast was simple and brought to the room whenever we chose. The staff were so kind and made us feel looked after from the start. Good value for a central stay, and I’d happily recommend Olvia Suites Hotel.

We stayed six nights and had no problems at all. The room felt like home, with a great bed, lovely pillows and blankets, and extra pillows available. There was also a kettle with tea and a minifridge. I was especially glad the bathroom was clean, smelled good, and had a hairdryer. They even supplied slippers, towels, face towels, and hygiene products, and cleaned the room daily. Breakfast changed every day and had a little of everything. Having it delivered to our room was such a nice touch. The staff were friendly, quick to help, and the area felt very safe. The entrance uses a security code and stays locked overnight. There are supermarkets, coffee and snack spots nearby, plus buses about three minutes away that go downtown and a metro station close by. It’s a really convenient place to stay in Athens. 🥰

The subway station was about seven minutes away, which was a plus. But the apartment beside the main building wasn’t at all like the online description. It was dusty and not cleaned up, and the main room window had no curtains. There was no sofa bed either, just sheets laid over the sofa. Breakfast was listed as included, but we only got a tray of food and most of it wasn’t to our taste. The fridge also had leftovers from previous guests.
