Ruby Rooms Athens

This place works if, like us, you mainly need somewhere clean and tidy to sleep before heading out again. Everything looked new, and the staff were amazing. We spent three days here and found the room big, cozy, and very clean. The building was spotless too, and the staff were always ready to answer questions about Athens and suggest places to visit. Being only 200 meters from the metro made getting around easy. A few things got in the way of a longer stay. There wasn't a breakfast room; if requested, breakfast came to the room, and ours was basic: toast with bread and cheese, juice, coffee, and a chocolate croissant. It was enough, but I've had better at almost every hotel I've stayed in. The shower was just a showerhead in the bathroom corner beside the toilet, with no proper enclosure. Water spread across the room, and we had to leave the door open while it drained and dried. Soundproofing was poor, so we heard noise from rooms on our floor and above. There were no curtains, either, so we had to shut the balcony door and use the lights. It feels set up for short visits, often just a night. For a clean place to rest between days out, it was excellent, and the tidy rooms and wonderful staff were real pluses.

The staff made the biggest difference. They were so polite and helpful, arranging transport for us and printing documents. Our room was nicely decorated and very clean. The one drawback was that Ruby Rooms is about 30 minutes from central Athens, though there was a metro station nearby.

We only stayed one night on our trip and got a lovely room for a good price. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, especially Nadia at reception. She's amazing. I'm vegan, and she went out to find almond milk for breakfast. Really good customer service!
