The Athens Life

The apartment is beautiful, and the location is fantastic, with restaurants, pubs, shops, and everything else just around the corner. I’d have given it five stars, but we had almost no hot water for most of our stay. We got no help and no refund, which isn’t the customer service I expected. Apart from that, everything was perfect.

We were a group of 10 and never felt short on space. The apartment had comfortable beds, three bathrooms, a balcony with morning sun, air conditioning, and a well-equipped kitchen. It was modern, clean, and in a handy spot, with groceries, restaurants, and cafés just a 2-5 minute walk away. The metro is right by the building, though we walked to the Acropolis, which is under 2 km away. Check-in was easy and flexible, with the keys waiting in a lockbox. We really enjoyed staying here, it made our Athens trip perfect.

We had a wonderful stay, Esmeralda, thank you for hosting us. The white decor was tasteful, and the flat was very comfortable for our group of eight. Its wraparound balcony was a nice feature, and having three and a half bathrooms plus a washing machine made things convenient. The provided linens, dishes, and even laundry detergent were adequate and good quality. A supermarket, restaurants, and metro stops were all within a five-minute walk, in a quiet residential neighborhood. The only thing missing was a welcome bottle of Greek wine. Just joking.

Esmeralda was a great host and replied right away whenever we needed anything. The flat felt like a home away from home, and we’d return in a heartbeat. It was spotless when we arrived, with extra towels and bed linen, and there was plenty of space for four people and a dog. Each bedroom had a desk, which mattered while we worked from home and the kids did online school during COVID. The kitchen had enough dishes and cutlery for 20 people. Outside, there’s a cycling and walking path and a metro station right by the front door. The residential area was very quiet, even for a light sleeper, with a big supermarket and lots of cafés, restaurants, and bakeries within 150m.
