Armenaki

Ermupoli is only a 10-15 minute drive away, with beautiful architecture and views, but Armenaki itself is tucked into a calm, friendly spot. It’s family-run, the rooms are cosy and clean, and the pool is immaculate, whether you want to cool off or get some exercise. The beach is a two-minute walk, with a sandy shore and facilities to make a visit comfortable. You can catch a lovely sunrise there, and there are restaurants serving fresh Greek food and a shop for everyday basics nearby. If you want a peaceful holiday away from busy high streets and crowded beaches, this feels like home for a family. Definitely worth coming back. Efharisto poli.

The family running Amenaki are friendly, attentive, and keep the rooms in perfect order, with service every two days. We also really enjoyed the large pool, especially for families with children. Azolimnos is lively, with bars and restaurants, a lovely beach when the wind stays away, and Ermoupolis is about 10 minutes by car. It’s a good base for exploring Syros and its beaches. We’ve stayed here four times since 2016. Unfortunately, the furnished apartments and hotel facilities still feel dated, and the general setup needs updating for guests’ comfort. The sea location and beautiful pool don’t quite match the room quality, so the value for money feels average and it falls short of a fifth star. Once the place is fully renovated, it could be perfect, and we’d come back.

The staff and owners were warm and always ready to help guests. Our room was spotless and tidy, with a lovely view over the pool and out to sea. The white and blue design fits beautifully with the Cycladic landscape, and sitting on the balcony with coffee was a real pleasure. Highly recommended!
