Villa Nireaus in Sami

It’s a very peaceful, private place, with lovely gardens and beautiful views over Sami and the bay towards the island of Ithaca. There’s a large balcony with full morning sun, shaded spots, a barbecue area, and plenty of comfortable outdoor furniture. The pool is lovely too, though it isn’t heated and was quite cold at the end of April. The house is comfortable, clean, and well equipped. The kitchen has what you need, there are three well-appointed bathrooms or ensuites, and there’s plenty of hot water with good showers. They left us a lovely little welcome pack. It would be nice to have milk in it for British guests. The owners live locally and are very helpful if anything needs attention. They look after the pool and gardens while you’re there, and the owners also come for a midweek clean and towel change. Diane, the local contact for Freelance holidays, was very helpful and answered our calls promptly. We found it an excellent base for exploring the island, though you need a car to make the most of it. Fiscardo in the north and Melissani lake near Sami are well worth seeing.
