John's Hotel

We spent seven days at John’s Hotel and would happily return. It’s right along the boardwalk, close to everything, and taxis are on hand when you need to go farther. Our room was very clean, and the staff were attentive and so friendly. Breakfast and coffee were readily available throughout our stay.

The lounge is lovely, and the bar music is well above average. Staff are super friendly and flexible when you have requests. It may be one of the best located hotel options in Chalcis. And the way they welcome pets makes them feel like pet lovers, not just pet friendly. ☺️

The WiFi was the one real problem, it was terrible and rarely showed more than one bar. Otherwise, the room was clean and had air conditioning and a fridge, and reception is open around the clock and ready to help. There’s a small guest parking lot a minute away. The hotel also has a bar and restaurant, with plenty of other restaurants nearby to choose from.

I booked a suite and had a nice view of the waterfront from its balcony. The location was ideal, close to the water and just a short walk from bars and restaurants. The hotel and rooms were very clean, and every staff member gave amazing service. The young woman working at the bar in the daytime remembered exactly how my wife liked her coffee and was super friendly. The chef was very nice too, and the cocktails were sublime. The man making them clearly has skills and didn’t go light on the alcohol. I’m from the UK, and I’d spent the first half of my trip in Athens at a five star hotel. Honestly, I wish I’d spent more of my time in Chalkida at John’s Hotel. It was far superior to that big name hotel, whose name I won’t mention. Staying here was the best part of my holiday. If you’re visiting Athens, book some time at John’s and along the waterfront. There’s a gelato place next door with amazing freshly made ice cream, and a little farther down is a bakery with the best Baclava I’ve ever eaten.
