What stayed with me most was how George and Lisa looked after us. They were kind and helpful in a relaxed, natural way, without hovering. Copal Simple Staying also looks even better in person than it does in the photos. The place has a quiet, warm feel, with a clean modern Mediterranean style that never comes off as showy. Later I learned the owner’s wife is an architect, which makes sense given the care in the design. It’s peaceful without feeling cut off, and within walking distance of everything. We could explore Chania on foot, get to the beach, and find coffee spots and restaurants without a car. I’ve stayed in plenty of places, but this one got the balance of minimal and comfortable just right. I’d absolutely come back.

Having our own rooftop terrace with a well-kept hot tub and lounge area gave us a little hideaway to relax, and the views were amazing. The furnished balcony was lovely too, especially at the end of the day, when we could have a nightcap and watch locals and tourists pass along the cobblestone street below. From there, the Venetian harbour, shops, and restaurants were only minutes away, and wandering the narrow lanes often led us to something new. Maria made the whole ten-day stay feel magical. She met us herself when we arrived in the transfer she’d arranged from the airport, and organized our ride home at the end. She was responsive and helpful throughout, sorting transport when needed, booking activities, and sharing suggestions for food and places to see. The room was very modern and impeccably clean, with friendly, helpful cleaning staff keeping it that way. We’d HIGHLY recommend Copal Simple Staying, especially Room 6 if you can get the private terrace. Thanks, Maria, for a wonderful stay :)

The room at Copal looked brand new and had lovely decor. We had a balcony for some fresh air, plus AC if we needed it. Check-in was fast and came with plenty of useful recommendations. We had an amazing stay and highly recommend it.

We’ll definitely come back to Copal. It’s in a great spot at the heart of town, in a charming area near the sea. The room was new, clean, and luxurious, and the service was impeccable. An extraordinary hotel.
