The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and toiletries in the bathroom. But outside noise carried straight into it. People sneezing in the walkway below sounded like they were in the room, along with dogs, cars and conversations. Bells seemed to start at 7 am, so good luck sleeping through all that. My service rating is a 1 because getting the key was such a mess, though the office manager was helpful once I found him. He wasn’t at the place the online guide sent me, and he didn’t seem to understand that I couldn’t read Greek or didn’t know where he was, so I could find the key. I’d lost my luggage and wallet in the same hour, and then spent 30 minutes trying to work out how to enter the room I’d rented. No one had contacted me ahead of time to explain that I needed to get the key from down the road and around the corner. That was bad business practice. If you arrive early and have time to kill, maybe the extra search won’t be so bad, but I didn’t like it.

The room was so small there was barely space for a large suitcase, and there were no hooks or hangers for beach towels or wet swimsuits. The wooden floors meant I could hear every step from the room above, often waking me early. Thin plasterboard walls between rooms let through conversations, TVs and even the smallest movements. Facilities were scattered: reception was in one building and breakfast in another. The stay was uncomfortable because of the noise and lack of basic amenities. I won’t recommend this place.

We took the whole first-floor apartment for two nights in mid June, and it was a lovely, comfortable place to finish our holiday. It had two rooms, two showers, a bath, a living room and a bedroom. Everything was clean and perfect. It’s quiet at the edge of the old town, and easy to get everywhere.

The shower didn’t work properly and had very little water pressure. The room was dirty too, with hair everywhere, an open shampoo bottle and stains on the desk. When we raised the issues, nobody took responsibility, and they refused a refund, saying their policy was never to refund. We found the reception only after searching, since the hotel’s doors and windows were shut and no one answered the emergency number posted there. It turned out to be hidden a few streets away. When we said we’d leave a bad review on booking, they cancelled our booking without paying us back, so we couldn’t post a review. Really bad experience with this Hotel and Elia group. STAY AWAY!
