Elia Residences

The apartment was fully functioning, and the host was friendly to communicate with. Great location close to the beach, restaurants and car rental, and just 15 mins walk from the old town.

The apartment itself was lovely, spotless, and perfectly placed, just a minute from Nea Becah. If you're happy with a comfortable place and little interaction with the hosts, it works well. But our dealings with Elia "company" were a letdown. We've visited Chania four times and had warm, welcoming hosts in the places we rented before. Those homes were booked when we decided late to return, so we chose Elia residence. One morning we left a key in the inside lock and took the second key out for breakfast. The windows were open, and we were on the top floor. When we got back, we couldn't open the door with the key we had. Elia said a technician would come in via the terrace, then messaged that they'd charge us to remove and break the lock. They said it should have been obvious not to leave a key in the inside lock, even though we had another one. Luckily, we eventually got the door open with the second key. We simply hadn't known how to use it properly. When we told them, they replied as if they hadn't known we had a second key. The check-in employee was very nice, but the rest of the communication felt like dealing with a bank. We also asked for a late checkout at 3:30 pm because our return flight was at 7:30 pm. Previous hosts had let us stay until 5 pm when we'd had 7 pm flights, but Elia said they had other guests and could only offer 12:30. We left our bags in the rental car parked next to Elia residence. At 3:30, after coming back from the beach to change beside the car, we saw the apartment still hadn't been cleaned and there were no guests. We'd left the drying rack outside and the bedroom windows partly open, and nothing had changed. For a house or apartment in Chania, I'd strongly recommend renting from individual hosts.

A lovely apartment close to both the sea and the city center.

The service was courteous, and they answered our questions quickly. We had a very good ground-floor apartment with its own entrance, a kitchenette, dining area, washing machine, and a balcony for each room as well as the living room. There were two rooms far apart from one another, each with its own toilet and shower, which worked really well for two couples. We cooked every day, so the dim light over the kitchenette's cooking area was a problem. We had to use a flashlight to make it brighter. Recommended if you're traveling around the area.
