La Torre del Kastelli

The owners, Maria and Dimitris, were wonderful hosts during our two month stay at La Torre Del Kastelli in January and February 2026. They’re genuinely kind and helpful, care about their guests and their boutique hotel, and speak excellent English. The housekeeping staff were great as well. There’s an elevator, though getting to the rooftop suite still means climbing one flight of stairs. The location, accommodation quality and staff were all hard to imagine improving on. We spent the first few nights in a balcony room overlooking the ancient Minoan ruins, which sent us back to our Greek Mythology. That added to the atmosphere of an already lovely stay. Then we moved to the rooftop suite, the best place we stayed in during our travels in Europe. Maria’s design and choice of quality furnishings deserve a lot of credit. The layout gave my husband and me plenty of room, and the porch was a real bonus. I’m a light sleeper, but the bed was comfortable enough that I slept well. The kitchen worked perfectly for making our own meals, the bathroom had a nice shower and lots of counter space, and there was plenty of storage. The kitchen table was large and the sofa was comfortable. Though it’s a new hotel in an old building, everything feels well built. The AC provided heat when needed, and the windows and skylights gave good ventilation. Night shades on both kept the light out for sleeping. For laundry, Oscars is just down the hill toward the bay. They’re very nice, and wash, dry and fold costs €12 for a large load. We’re looking forward to another visit to La Torre del Kastelli.
